Grandfather Stipan often talked about how, as a little boy, he loved exploring nature and spending time in trees. One sunny day, as sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, Stipan climbed up his favorite tree — a large, old oak.

Sitting on a branch, Stipan observed the world around him. Birds sang, crickets chirped, and the wind rustled through the leaves. In that moment, he had a brilliant idea. He began to whistle, using his lips and breath to create melodies that sounded like birds. His whistling — or, as we like to call it, “švikućanje” — was so natural and beautiful that the birds even paused to listen.

Villagers often passed by the oak, and upon hearing the sounds Stipan created, they thought a new kind of bird had taken up residence in the tree. That’s how he came to be called “Švikola,” because they believed he was a bird playing music.

Every time he whistled, he felt freedom and joy, as if he were a part of the nature surrounding him.

As the days went by, Švikola became well-known in the village. Children would come to listen, and adults to enjoy his melodies — as well as the stories he was famous for telling.

Years later, when he grew up and became a father, Stipan shared the stories of his childhood with his own children. He spoke to them of the freedom he felt in the tree, the sounds of nature, and how he was known as Švikola.

And so, the story of Švikola became part of the family tradition, passed down from generation to generation, reminding everyone of the importance of listening to nature and appreciating the simple things that make life beautiful.

This is also how our logo was born: grandfather Švikola sitting in a tree, whistling, while a new green branch grows beneath him — symbolizing his descendants who have never forgotten him.
